Karnali Province Sees 55.1% Voter Turnout in Recent Elections

In Karnali, 55.1 percent of votes were cast. According to Provincial Election Officer Lal Bahadur Gurung, out of 1,048,138 registered voters, only 577,542 people cast their ballots.

The number of participating female voters was 312,845, and the number of male voters was 264,695.

Looking at the constituency-wise data, Surkhet-1, which has 122,902 registered voters, saw 57.09 percent turnout, meaning 70,167 votes were cast. Similarly, Surkhet-2, with 127,668 registered voters, recorded a 57.46 percent turnout, with 73,356 votes cast.

In Dolpa-1, which has two constituencies, Dailke-1 had 81,287 registered voters, with 50.52 percent or 41,069 votes cast. Dailke-2, with 81,503 registered voters, saw 48.24 percent or 39,321 votes cast.

Furthermore, in a constituency with 108,479 registered voters, 56.84 percent or 61,657 votes were cast. Salyan, with 164,648 registered voters, saw 51.14 percent or 84,201 votes cast. Rukum West, with 107,748 registered voters, recorded a 58.44 percent turnout, with 62,968 votes cast.

Likewise, in Kalikot, 50 percent of votes, or 42,523 votes, were cast; there were 85,044 registered voters here.

In Jumla, which has 72,444 registered voters, 56.88 percent or 41,208 votes were cast. Mugu, with 36,605 registered voters, recorded 60.56 percent turnout, with 22,168 votes cast.

In the Himalayan district of Dolpa, out of 25,005 registered voters, 65.73 percent or 16,437 votes were cast, while in another area of Dolpa with 34,805 registered voters, 64.55 percent or 22,467 votes were cast.
