US State Department Confirms First Confirmed Rescue Flight for American Citizens from Middle East

Washington D.C. | The US State Department announced on Wednesday that a charter flight carrying American citizens has departed from the Middle East. However, the department has not released further details about it. This is the first confirmed rescue flight receiving US assistance. This move comes just days after the US and Israel launched military operations against Iran. The State Department also stated that more flights in the region will be gradually increased.

'No further information regarding the ongoing rescue operation will be released at this time due to operational security,' the department mentioned in a media note issued Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, a senior official from the State Department stated that as of Wednesday morning, assistance, including providing crucial information and facilitating transportation options, had been provided to approximately 6,500 American citizens.
