Independent Candidate Arrested in Rupandehi on Banking Fraud Charges

Rupandehi. Mahendra Yadav, 48, an independent candidate from Rupandehi Constituency No. 3 residing in Siddharthanagar Municipality-7, has been arrested in connection with a banking offense case.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Chand of the District Police Office, Yadav, who was convicted by the court in a banking offense case and had been absconding, was apprehended today by a police team from Gallamandi in Siddharthanagar-6.

The Chitwan District Court convicted Yadav in the banking offense case on Falgun 25, 2081. The court had ordered him to pay the principal amount of 3 million rupees along with a corresponding fine. Following the court's verdict, Yadav, who had absconded without serving the principal amount, fine, and imprisonment, was ordered by the Chitwan District Court to be presented.

Yadav was contesting the election using the mango election symbol.
