Election Commission Finalizes Preparations for House of Representatives Polls

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has announced that all preparations for the House of Representatives election have been completed. Speaking at a press conference organized on Wednesday on the eve of the election, Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ramprasad Bhandari informed that necessary election materials have reached all polling centers across the country. 

He clarified that the Commission is fully active in making the election, announced under specific circumstances arising from the agitation of Bhadra 23 and 24, 2082, clean, impartial, transparent, and reliable. According to Bhandari, voting across the country will take place from 7 AM to 5 PM on Falgun 21. All necessary materials, including ballot papers and ballot boxes, have been safely delivered to the respective polling centers. While informing that the construction and management of polling stations have been completed, Acting Chief Commissioner Bhandari stated that the polling sites have been made gender and disability-friendly, ensuring easy access for all voters. 

The Commission has stated that extremely reliable security arrangements have been made so that voters can freely cast their votes for their preferred candidate and political party. Bhandari urged not to view the election merely as a technical process of selecting representatives or forming a government. He stated that through the election, citizens get the opportunity to directly involve themselves in the process of lawmaking and state governance. Stressing that the completion of this process is an expression of policy, leadership, and governance, and that citizens contribute directly to building an inclusive and accountable state, the Commission heartily appealed to all voters to enthusiastically participate in this historic democratic exercise and exercise their right to vote.
