Foreign Tourists Join Locals in Celebrating Holi Festival in Kathmandu

Foreign tourists also enjoyed the joyous festival of Holi celebrated by Nepalis. Foreign tourists played Holi by following the customs of Nepalis on the day of Fagu Purnima.

They celebrated the Holi festival by gathering in Basantapur, Kathmandu, and applying colors. There is a crowd of people performing the 'Cheer Puja' which started a week ago with the erection of the 'Cheer' in the Basantapur Durbar Square area.

Today, on the occasion of Fagu Purnima, Holi is being celebrated by playing colors in the hilly regions of the country. The tradition is to celebrate this festival by playing Holi in the hilly districts today and in the Terai districts tomorrow.
