Nepali Congress (BP) Merges Back into Main Nepali Congress Party

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress (BP) has been integrated into the Nepali Congress. Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa and Congress (BP) President Sushil Sherchan signed the agreement paper during a joint election rally held in Kathmandu's Wards 5 and 6 on Sunday.

Congress Election Committee Coordinator Sitaram KC and Congress (BP) Senior Leader Karnabahadur Mall had established the basis for agreement for the party unification, and the integration happened based on those grounds.

During the election rally, Congress Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma announced the agreement for the unification between Congress (BP) and Congress. Leader Mall, who was discussing the unification, had previously told Ratopati that the preparations for the merger were in the final stages.

The working committee meeting of the Nepali Congress held on Poush 13 had called upon those who had left the party for various reasons in the past to return home. Following that call, the team of Congress (BP) President Sushilman Sherchan had presented a proposal to join the Nepali Congress on Poush 14 itself to the then Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Acting President Purnabahadur Khadka at Deuba's residence in Maharajgunj. The unification process, which was stalled due to internal disputes within the Congress, was completed today.
