Fugitive arrested after 15 years on the run

Baniyani (Jhapa) - Police have arrested a fugitive convicted in the murder of a Bhutanese refugee after 15 years and five months on the run. 

Police arrested Bhim Bahadur Bhattarai of Ambegudin – 5 of Taplejung, who hacked to death Santa Bahadur Adhikari of Khudunabari Camp Sector Hut No 31 on March, 10, 2002, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Keshav Kumar Thebe of Area Police Office. 

Bhattarai was arrested from Mukti Chowk of Birtamode municipality – 4 on July 26. "We had been searching for Bhattarai under the fugitive search campaign," Thebe spoke with the National News Agency (RSS). "We were successful in capturing him after receiving a tip off that the convict was in Birtamode," he added.
