Iran Launches Retaliatory Strikes Across Middle East Following US-Israel Action, Analysts Warn of Escalation

London. Following military action by the United States and Israel, an enraged Iran is now launching a series of airstrikes against other countries in the region. Reports have emerged of explosions at US military camps located in Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Sanam Vakil, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Programme at Chatham House, a London-based think tank, stated that regional tensions are set to further escalate following the US-Israel attack on Iran.

“We can now only expect tensions to rise because the US, in coordination with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has given a clear signal that this attack is not intended to bring Iran back to negotiations,” Vakil told CNN. According to her, this appears to be a war aimed at changing the structure of the Islamic Republic.

Vakil also noted that Iran is fighting for its survival. In such a situation, Iran's only option might be to retaliate quickly and attempt to spread the war across the entire region.

Iran might adopt a strategy of not limiting the effects of the war to Tehran but spreading it across the entire Middle East, increasing the risk of further rapid regional instability, she explained.
