UAE Confirms Interception of Ballistic Missiles Launched from Iran; One Fatality Reported

Abu Dhabi. The United Arab Emirates has confirmed that ballistic missiles fired from Iran targeted the country. According to the Ministry, the air defense system successfully intercepted many of these missiles. According to a government statement, debris falling after the interception caused material damage in a residential area of Abu Dhabi and resulted in the death of one person of Asian origin.

The Ministry strongly condemned the attack, stating that targeting civilian structures, facilities, and national institutions is completely unacceptable. 'Such acts are cowardly steps that dangerously escalate tensions and undermine the safety and stability of civilians,' the statement read.

UAE deemed the incident a clear violation of national sovereignty and international law, warning that it reserves the full right to defend its territory and retaliate by taking all necessary measures. The Ministry also stated that the country is fully prepared to face any threat.
