Federation of Nepali Journalists Condemns Attack on Journalist Arjun Acharya

Kathmandu. The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has condemned the attack on Ratopati.com journalist Arjun Acharya. Issuing a statement on Friday, the FNJ expressed its concern over the assault on journalist Acharya.

The statement issued by FNJ General Secretary Ram Prasad Dahal reads: 'The Federation of Nepali Journalists has drawn attention to the attack carried out by individuals from the Volunteers Force against journalist Arjun Acharya, who is engaged in media work.'

The FNJ stated that this attack, which occurred during the performance of professional duties, is highly condemnable and an assault on the practice of press freedom. 

The FNJ also drew the attention of the concerned authorities to immediately bring those involved in the attack to legal purview and create an environment for journalists to work without hindrance and in safety. Furthermore, the FNJ wished for the speedy recovery of the injured journalist Acharya.
