Kathmandu District Administration Imposes 9 PM Curfew on Nighttime Businesses Ahead of Federal Elections

Kathmandu. In view of the upcoming House of Representatives elections, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has set a time limit for the operation of nighttime businesses. The administration has directed that all businesses must close after 9 PM, effective from Falgun 18.

According to the notice issued by the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, this decision has been made keeping in mind the security sensitivity of the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21. Hotels, restaurants, and all other nighttime businesses operating within Kathmandu district will be allowed to operate only until 9 PM until further notice.  

The notice, signed by Mukti Ram Rijal, spokesperson and Assistant Chief District Officer of the District Administration Office, states, 'In consideration of election security, all nighttime businesses operating within Kathmandu district are hereby informed through this notice to operate only until 9 PM from Falgun 18 until further notice and to close all businesses thereafter.' This rule must be strictly adhered to starting from Falgun 18.
