481 Firearms Surrendered in Madhesh Province Ahead of Federal Elections

Janakpurdham. As per the notification issued targeting the House of Representatives election, 481 firearms (guns) have been surrendered in Madhesh Province.

According to the Madhesh Province Police Office, Janakpurdham, this number of weapons has been received following the notice issued by the District Administration Offices across the province to conduct the election in an independent and fear-free environment.

Although the records show that various individuals in the eight districts here possess 2,531 licensed firearms, the office stated that only 481 have been received so far. There are still 2,050 firearms yet to be submitted.

The local administration had issued a notice for people to deposit the weapons at the nearest police unit or District Police Office.
