Eight Injured, Four Critically, in Suma Van Accident in Nuwakot

Nuwakot. Eight people were injured when a Suma van traveling from Nuwakot to Kathmandu met with an accident at Kukhure in Shivapuri Rural Municipality-5 on Thursday evening. Four of the injured, whose condition is serious, have been taken to Kathmandu for further treatment.

According to District Traffic Police Office Chief Police Inspector Binod Dhakal, Samten Lama (50), Nema Gyante Lama (42), Kalpana Tamang (27), and Phoolmaya Lama (43) were critically injured when the Suma van traveling from Jimtang in Dupcheshwor Rural Municipality-4 to Kathmandu met with an accident. Police Inspector Dhakal informed that they were sent to Kathmandu for treatment due to head and chest injuries.

Indrakumar Tamang, Rapsagi Tamang, Sushila, and Tek Bahadur Bista, who were injured in the accident, are being treated at the district hospital. The Suma van with registration number Ba Pra 03-001Ja 777 met with the accident after its brakes failed and it lost control on the downhill section at Kukhure in Shivapuri-5. Police stated that the driver of the vehicle, Aita Lama from Dupcheshwor Rural Municipality-4, has been taken into custody.
