Election Commission Fines Candidates and Party for Code of Conduct Violation

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has taken action against Nepali Communist Party candidate Shakti Bahadur Basnet, independent candidate Dr. Nicholas Bhusal, and the Shram Sanskriti Party.

Mohanraj Joshi, a legal officer at the commission, stated that a decision was made to impose a fine of 25,000 rupees for violating the code of conduct.

The commission decided to impose a fine of 25,000 rupees as punitive action after the clarification sought regarding the violation of the code of conduct was deemed unsatisfactory.
