Army Chief Inspects Security Preparations for Upcoming Elections in Sudurpashchim Province

Kanchanpur. Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel today held discussions with the Provincial Security Mechanism at the Sudurpashchim Division in Teghari, Kailali, regarding the upcoming elections.

During his inspection of the Sudurpashchim Division for the security management of the House of Representatives elections, he directed that election security be carried out flawlessly. The Sudurpashchim Division stated that Chief of Army Staff Sigdel issued directives to subordinate units following the discussion. Chief District Officers from Kailali and Kanchanpur also participated in the discussion.

With election security in mind in Sudurpashchim, the army has already taken responsibility for the security of prisons, the airport, and the Nepal Oil Corporation depot in Dhangadhi. Furthermore, the army has stated that it has increased patrolling in all nine districts here and has made all necessary preparations for the elections.

The Nepali Army announced that Chief of Army Staff Sigdel is also scheduled to inspect the Uttar Pashchim Division in Surkhet today.
