Jhapta Award Committee Announces Four Recipients for Literary Honors

The Jhapta Award Management Committee has decided to present the Jhapta Award to four individuals. The decision was made in a meeting chaired by the committee's chairman, Arun Rana.

Sanat Regmi and Rajendra Thapa will each receive one lakh rupees, while Dr. Gopal Prasad Sharma and Dr. Kanchhi Maharjan will jointly receive the Jhapta Award with a total prize money of one lakh rupees.

Sanat Regmi will be honored with the Jhapta Award for his significant contribution to the enrichment of Nepali literature through fiction.

Similarly, lyricist General Rajendra Thapa, dedicated to popularizing the Nepali language through words, will be presented with the 'Yagya Keshar Award'.

Dr. Gopal Prasad Sharma and Dr. Kanchhi Maharjan, who hold doctorates in Nepali language and literature, will be awarded the 'Saindhwoj Nandakumari Research Award'.

The names of the awardees were recommended by the Jhapta Award Selection Committee, formed under the convenership of Indira Prasai and comprising members Prof. Dr. Hemchandra Nepal and Prof. Dr. Bharat Kumar Bhattarai, as mentioned in a press release issued by committee member-secretary Rekha Rana on Thursday.
