Pauwadungma Rural Municipality to Launch Tax Services Following District Office Closure

Bhojpur. Tax-related services will now be operational from the Pauwadungma Rural Municipality here. With the objective of providing convenient, fast, and effective services to citizens after the District Taxpayer Service Office was shut down, the Rural Municipality has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Provincial Revenue Office, Dharan.

As per the government's decision on Kartik 17, 2082, some services previously provided by the former Taxpayer Service Office, Bhojpur, will now be available from the local level. This arrangement is expected to end the compulsion for service recipients to travel long distances for routine tax-related work.

Under the agreement, the Rural Municipality will issue Personal Permanent Account Numbers (PAN) to natural persons residing within its jurisdiction, and Business PANs to businesses and entities registered at the local level.

Furthermore, services such as collecting necessary documents for Value Added Tax (VAT) registration and forwarding them to the concerned office, facilitating procedures related to excise duty licenses, and recommending tax clearance certificates will also be provided through the Rural Municipality.

The Rural Municipality will collaborate on taxpayer registration detail amendments and conducting tax education and awareness programs. This is expected to make legal procedures related to income tax, VAT, and excise duty easier for local taxpayers to understand.

According to the agreement, the services will formally commence operations from Chaitra 5. According to Rural Municipality Chairman Kiran Rai, the service is being launched with the goal of making tax-related processes simple and accessible for local citizens.

Similarly, Chief Administrative Officer Navin Bhattarai informed that tax-related work will be effectively managed by the Rural Municipality as per the subjects mentioned in the MoU. This collaboration, targeted at the service recipients of the Rural Municipality, is expected to make revenue administration citizen-friendly, speed up service delivery, and support the implementation of authority according to the federal structure.
