Security Chiefs Brief PM Karki on Preparations for House of Representatives Election

Kathmandu. The heads of the four security agencies briefed Prime Minister Sushila Karki on the security preparations for the House of Representatives election scheduled for this coming Falgun 21.

Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal also participated in the briefing held at Baluwatar on Tuesday. The security chiefs briefed that due to the rain on Tuesday, there is a possibility of snowfall in the high Himalayan districts, which could affect management.

An official present at the meeting told Ratopati that the Holi festival on Falgun 19 in the Terai region was also discussed with the Prime Minister.

The heads of the security agencies mentioned that the security strategy is proceeding according to the integrated security plan and briefed the Prime Minister that there are no challenges that could disrupt the election. An official from the Prime Minister's Office present at the meeting told Ratopati that the prohibition of alcohol sales during Holi in the Terai was discussed.

The meeting concluded that the weather would clear up before the election, and there would be no impact due to the cold in the high Himalayan regions. An officer present at the meeting said, 'It was concluded that there would be no impact as the weather will improve in 1 week.'

Chief Secretary Sumanraj Aryal, Army Chief Ashokraj Sigdel, Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha, Home Ministry Joint Secretary Anand Kafle, IGP Dan Bahadur Karki, Armed Police IGP Raju Aryal, and Chief Investigation Director Tekendra Karki were present in the discussion.

Prime Minister Karki stated that the security strategy is satisfactory and instructed them to remain vigilant about the challenges. Prime Minister Karki directed the security chiefs to monitor potential individuals and groups that could create security challenges.
