Supreme Court Orders Release of Durga Prasai

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has ordered the release of Durga Prasai.

Supreme Court Information Officer Nirajan Pandey informed that the joint bench of Justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Meghraj Pokharel ordered Prasai's release on Tuesday.

Prasai was arrested by the police from Bhaktapur on Falgun 4.

Prasai, who was previously arrested on Magh 23, was released on bail. At that time, the police had taken his statement based on the investigation of his remarks regarding the election, using it as a 'basis', before releasing him.

The police have repeatedly arrested Prasai on suspicion that he was about to start a campaign to disrupt the elections scheduled for Falgun 21. Prasai was also arrested from Pokhara on Magh 5, after which the police took his statement and released him.
