Cabinet Approves Formation of 'Jangji Parishad', Accepts US Grant, Approves Hydropower Framework

Kathmandu. The government is set to form the Jangji Parishad. Government Spokesperson and Home Minister, Om Prakash Aryal, informed that the Council of Ministers, in its meeting on Tuesday, decided to form the Jangji Parishad.

He also stated that the meeting decided to accept the proposed cash grant assistance equivalent to 4 million US dollars to be received from the Chinese government for the House of Representatives elections.

Furthermore, the meeting approved the financial investment framework for the Budhigandaki Reservoir-based Hydropower Project as mentioned in the allocated budget and programs for the current fiscal year. Spokesperson Aryal also mentioned that the meeting decided to appoint District Judge Dr. Diwakar Bhatta of Kathmandu District Court as the Chairman of the Consumer Court Kathmandu, with the responsibility of overseeing the functions of the Kathmandu District Court as well.

The Council of Ministers also decided to designate the District Court for the prosecution and settlement of offenses under Section 140 of the Insurance Act, 2079, and to determine the public holidays to be granted for one full year, from Baisakh 1, 2083 BS to Chaitra Masanta.
