Nepali Congress Pledges NPR 500,000 for National Football Captain Sabitri Bhandari's Medical Treatment

Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress has announced a contribution of five lakh rupees (NPR 500,000) for the medical treatment of national football team captain Sabitri Bhandari Samba.

Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma stated via the social media platform X that he called ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nemwang and informed him that the Congress would contribute five lakh rupees towards the player's treatment fund.

He wrote, 'I informed the ANFA President via phone that the Congress will contribute five lakh rupees to the player's treatment fund. It is necessary for all of us to support the renowned football player 'Samba' who has made a significant contribution to enhancing the nation's prestige. I wish her a speedy recovery!'

Bhandari had posted a status on social media on Monday appealing for funds for her treatment. Following her appeal, offers of support have been coming forward.

However, anger has spread across social media platforms alleging that neither ANFA nor the government has taken any initiative.
