Donors Clear Debt for Jyoti Mandal Secondary School in Myagdi

Myagdi. Donors have provided financial assistance to free Jyoti Mandal Secondary School, located in Bankhark, Jaljala Rural Municipality-1, from debt.

The school had taken a loan by mortgaging the land and property of Principal Mekh Bahadur Khatri in a cooperative society for operating the secondary level from private sources, purchasing land, and constructing infrastructure including buildings.

Granddaughters of former teacher, former management committee chairman, and former headman of Bankhark, Lal Bahadur Pun, have freed the school from the cooperative's debt by repaying it.

Principal Khatri informed that the Pun family repaid the loan of Rs. 929,000 held in the cooperative, securing the return of the mortgaged land ownership certificate.

Support was received for the school from Lal Bahadur's granddaughter's husband Kamal Bahadur Purja, granddaughters Parbati, Radha, Sita, Shanti, and great-grandson Pawan. The school honored the donors with a program in Bankhark on Monday.

The school returned the mortgaged land ownership certificate of Principal Khatri. The school, which teaches up to grade 10, has 94 students.
