West Indies Demolish Zimbabwe by 107 Runs in T20 World Cup Super 8 Clash

Kathmandu. In the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Super 8 match held today, West Indies defeated Zimbabwe by a massive margin of 107 runs.

Batting first, West Indies posted a colossal total of 254 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Shimron Hetmyer played an explosive innings for West Indies, scoring a magnificent 85 runs off just 34 balls, featuring seven fours and seven sixes. In the process, he broke his own record for the fastest half-century in a T20 World Cup, reaching his fifty in just 19 balls. He was excellently supported by captain Rovman Powell, who scored 59 runs. The two shared a crucial partnership of 122 runs off just 52 balls. Towards the end, Sherfane Rutherford remained unbeaten on 31 and Romario Shepherd added 21 runs, propelling the team to a huge score.

Chasing a target of 255 runs, the Zimbabwe team was bowled out for 147 in 17.4 overs. Brad Evans, who came in to bat at number eight for Zimbabwe, played a fighting innings of 43 runs off 21 balls, but it was not enough for victory. Other batsmen failed to make a significant contribution.

With this result, West Indies registered a spectacular victory in the Super 8 match.
