CPN-UML Chairman Oli Stresses Commitment to Peaceful Elections and Voter Freedom

Jhapa. Communist Party of Nepal (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has stated that UML is firmly in favor of peaceful elections and emphasized that voters must be allowed to cast their ballots independently. 

Addressing the declaration ceremony of the party-affiliated National 'Volunteer Force' Koshi Province Committee in Damak today, Chairman Oli stressed that since there are attempts to disrupt the elections, the government must focus on conducting the polls impartially and without fear.

Clarifying that UML stands for peaceful politics and stability, he expressed the view that UML must now lead the country's prosperity and development. Oli, who is also the candidate for the House of Representatives from Jhapa Constituency No. 5, said, "No one should imagine prosperity for the country without UML; now UML will take the lead in building the nation."

Mentioning that the party formed the Volunteer Force to support the government's own security agencies, he stated that this force was formed not just for the elections but for the long-term security of the nation.

"This force has been formed based on the learning that relying solely on the state mechanism is not sufficient," he said.
