Supreme Court Orders Retrieval of Case File in Medical Entrepreneur Durga Prasai's Habeas Corpus Petition

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has issued an order to summon the case file related to the habeas corpus petition of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai. A joint bench of Supreme Court Justices Nahakul Subedi and Meghraj Pokharel issued the order to retrieve the file from the Office of the Attorney General.

The order to summon the file was issued based on the written response sent by the District Police Range during the hearing of the habeas corpus writ filed on behalf of Prasai.

Previously, Prasai, who was arrested on Magh 23, was released on bail. At that time, the police's Cyber Bureau took his statement based on his remarks regarding the election as the 'basis' for investigation and then released him.

Police have repeatedly arrested Prasai on suspicion that he is about to start a campaign to disrupt the elections scheduled for Falgun 21. Prasai, who was also arrested from Pokhara on Magh 5, was questioned by the police and then released.
