Bus Crash in Dhading Kills 17, Injures 24

Kathmandu. 17 people have died and 24 have been injured in a bus accident that occurred in Dhading on Monday morning.

The passenger bus, bearing registration number Ga 1 Kha 1421, was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu when it fell into the Trishuli River at Bhaisigouda, Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-5, along the Prithvi Highway, around 1:30 AM on Monday.

Immediately following the accident, a team led by DSP Sunil Giri from the Armed Police Force Nepal's Disaster Management Base in Aadamghat was deployed for rescue operations. Furthermore, a special rescue team, including divers, was mobilized from the Disaster Management Training School, Kurintar, informed DIG Bishnu Prasad Bhatta, Spokesperson for the Armed Police Force Nepal.

According to DIG Bhatta, the bodies of the 17 deceased are at the scene. The 24 injured individuals have been rescued and sent to various hospitals for treatment, while the identification process for the deceased and injured is ongoing.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Rescue work is being carried out at the scene in coordination among all three security agencies.
