Lviv Explosions Investigated as Terrorist Attack After Deadly Incidents

Kyiv. Authorities have launched an investigation into the explosions in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv on Sunday morning, labeling them as terrorist attacks. At least one person was killed and dozens injured in the incidents.

According to the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, police arrived at the scene after receiving an emergency call about a breach at a shop near the city center. It was reported that the first explosion occurred shortly after the police arrived, and another explosion followed when a second team reached the location.

A 23-year-old female police officer was killed in the attack. Additionally, a patrol police vehicle and a civilian vehicle were damaged. The Prosecutor's Office has registered a case as a terrorist act resulting in serious consequences and is proceeding with the investigation, although the exact circumstances of the incident remain unclear.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi stated via Facebook that this was definitely a terrorist act. However, authorities have not yet disclosed who is responsible for the attack. Meanwhile, Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, was also subjected to a combined missile and drone attack early Sunday morning. Explosions were reportedly heard in the city following a ballistic missile warning.
