Author Narayan Dhakal Launches Sixth Novel in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. The sixth novel by litterateur Narayan Dhakal, titled 'Jagajjannani Uski Aamako Naam Hoina' (The Mother of the Universe is Not Her Mother's Name), was unveiled in Kathmandu on Saturday.

Dhakal launched the work at a program held at Nepalaya's Aarsala, gifting the book to his grandchildren.

At the event, author Dhakal shared his experiences from five decades of literary, political, and social activism. Interpreting literature as a question directed at politics, history, and society, he described this novel as his 'statement of dream-nightmare against betrayal.'

Nepalaya's editor, Bimal Acharya, claimed this novel to be an unforgettable work in the history of Nepali literature. Dhakal, who began his writing journey in B.S. 2030, has previously published nearly two dozen works including novels, short stories, essays, and poetry.
