Curfew Imposed in Gaur Municipality, Rautahat Following Renewed Clashes

Rautahat. The District Administration Office, Rautahat has issued a curfew order in Gaur, the district headquarters. Following the decision of the District Security Committee, Rautahat, a curfew order has been issued in various areas of Gaur Municipality from 1 PM on Saturday until further notice.

The District Administration Office stated that no individual will be allowed to move, gather, hold meetings, processions, or demonstrations in the areas where the curfew order has been issued.

The curfew order has been issued covering the area from Mudwalwa Gate in the east, Lalwaiya Dam in the west, Bam Canal in the north, and Gaur Customs Office Gate in the south. A notice issued by CDO Dinesh Sagar Bhusal mentioned that anyone violating the curfew order will be dealt with according to the law.

The situation became tense after clashes erupted again between two communities in Sabagadh, Gaur Municipality-6, against the prior agreement. Although a 6-point agreement was reached between both parties through the initiative of the District Administration Office on Friday evening, stone-pelting began around 9 AM on Saturday.

As the clashes escalated, hundreds of security personnel from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Nepal were deployed to bring the situation under control. District Police Chief SP Sitaram Rijal and Armed Police SP Ramhari Adhikari reached the scene.
