Rastriya Swatantra Party Leader Balen Shah Pledges Development for Karnali Province

Surkhet. Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balen Shah, has highlighted the immense potential of Karnali and stated that his party is committed to the development and prosperity of this region.

Addressing an election rally organized in Surkhet on Thursday, he described Karnali's cultural, natural, and geographical diversity as a national asset.

Standing before thousands of people, leader Shah identified Karnali as the region boasting the country's largest Rara Lake, the deepest lake, the longest river, the largest district, and the largest rural municipality.

'Karnali is the place described by King Mahendra as a celestial nymph,' he said, 'No government or party has understood the depth here until today; the party that wants to understand that depth is the Rastriya Swatantra Party.'

Considering Karnali the birthplace of the Nepali language and Khas civilization, Shah discussed the historical significance of the Sinja Valley. 'There is its own language, script, painting, dance, and festivals here,' he stated, 'RSP is the party that will preserve the Sinja civilization of Karnali, just like the Newar civilization of Kathmandu.'

Leader Shah pointed out the irony that Yarsagumba, considered the gold of Dolpa, reaches worldwide, but Karnali's produce does not reach other parts of its own country. He said, 'Apples and Marsi rice from here do not reach Chitwan and Jhapa; RSP wants to be the party that at least ensures the produce here reaches the entire country.'

Expressing concern over the high rates of hunger, child mortality, and maternal mortality still prevalent in Karnali, he lamented that many leaders have come to sell Karnali's poverty and suffering, but leaders who understand have not arrived. He stated, 'Leaders of RSP want to become the leaders who understand the pain and poverty of Karnali.'

Committing that RSP will pay special attention to the development of Karnali, which holds immense potential in agriculture, tourism, and hydropower, leader Shah said, 'We want to move forward carrying the dreams of Karnali with your blessings. Karnali's dreams will now be our dreams.'

He called upon the people of Karnali to grant their valuable votes and ensure RSP's victory, saying, 'Only with your support and backing can we change the face of Karnali.'
