CPN-UML Unveils Manifesto Targeting Federal Elections with 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali' Vision

Kathmandu. CPN-UML has unveiled its manifesto targeting the House of Representatives elections of 2082, resolving to fulfill the national aspiration of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali'.

 Unveiled under the main slogan 'UML Will Build It,' the manifesto outlines immediate actions to be taken if the party forms the government, and presents 25 foundational pillars for long-term development as its core promises in sections 'E' and 'F'.

UML has specifically announced popular programs targeting women, youth, students, laborers, and the underprivileged class.

The manifesto places high priority on women and social security. Accordingly, it announces a nutrition allowance of NPR 20,000 per childbirth for women to balance the declining population growth rate and improve maternal and child health.

Furthermore, UML has committed to providing free life insurance coverage up to NPR 500,000 for pregnant women, and doubling their health check-up and transportation expenses. UML also plans to offer interest-free loans up to NPR 2,000,000 for the development of women's entrepreneurship and provide free sanitary pads to schoolgirls.

UML has introduced a special package for youth and students. Interest-free loans up to NPR 2,000,000 will be available for students wishing to pursue higher education in technical streams, and an 'Internship' arrangement will be established to create an environment where they can 'study while earning'.

With the objective of facilitating international transactions for youth engaged in information technology and startups, the manifesto includes a promise to provide a 'Dollar Card' equivalent to $10,000, as well as free 10 GB of mobile data annually for youth aged 18 to 28.

For the upliftment of laborers and the poor, UML has put forward an ambitious plan to raise the minimum wage to NPR 25,000 per month. The government will deposit an additional annual bonus of NPR 5,000 into the bank accounts of migrant workers who send remittances through legal channels.

 Similarly, UML is committed to waiving loans up to NPR 25,000 taken by poor and underprivileged families from cooperatives and financial institutions, and bringing them under the scope of contribution-based social security.

To improve the education and health sectors, UML has announced the establishment of a hierarchy for teachers, provision of midday meals for students up to grade 10, and an increase in the allowance for health volunteers to NPR 20,000.

The manifesto mentions that special programs for the honor and welfare of security personnel will be conducted to maintain high morale among them. Furthermore, under the 25 pillars of prosperity, UML has resolved to transform the face of the country by increasing the size of the economy to NPR 200 Kharba in 10 years, creating domestic employment, building safe housing and modern cities, and constructing major infrastructure such as the East-West Railway and Metro Rail.

UML has also prominently included Digital Nepal, good governance, modernization in agriculture, and corruption control.
