Hotel Owner Arrested for Alleged Misconduct Against JSP Candidate in Sarlahi

Sarlahi. Police have arrested hotelier Prashant Waiba on allegations of misbehaving with Dr. JP Yadav, a candidate from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal for Sarlahi-3. Police took Waiba into custody after he allegedly used insulting language and misbehaved with candidate Yadav when he arrived at the Bagmati Chowk in Bagmati Municipality as part of his election campaign.

According to candidate Yadav, Waiba suddenly approached while Yadav and his supporters were eating snacks at the hotel and insulted him by calling him a 'Madhesi'. Yadav claimed that Waiba not only verbally abused him but also physically assaulted him.

Following the incident, Yadav immediately informed the police, and a police team apprehended Waiba from the scene. The local politics have been stirred up by such misconduct against a candidate right before the election.

Sarlahi DSP Saroj Rai informed that Waiba has been taken into custody and is being held at the Hariban Police Station based on candidate Yadav's verbal complaint. The police have initiated further investigation, keeping the sensitivity of the incident in mind.

DSP Rai stated that although no written complaint has been received yet, Waiba is being questioned and further investigated based on the verbal information.

JSP Nepal candidate Dr. JP Yadav is scheduled to hold a press conference this afternoon to further clarify this incident and make his views public.
