Nepali Film 'Chameli Ko Poi' Postpones Release Amid Political Climate

Kathmandu. The film 'Chameli Ko Poi' will not be released on its previously announced date. Although it was stated that the film directed by Everest Surya Bohora would be brought before the audience on Ram Navami, i.e., Chaitra 13, the decision was made considering the current political situation and election environment in the country, according to the issued press release.

The new release date for 'Chameli Ko Poi', produced under the banner of Dhan Laxmi Cine Makers, will be announced soon. In a video message released along with the press release, producer Ramnarayan Upadhyaya expressed gratitude to director Bohora's team for completing the film on time with great effort. It was also mentioned that they are waiting for a peaceful atmosphere for the film's release, which gained traction from the first look poster released some time ago.

The film, featuring story by director Bohora, screenplay by Shivam Adhikari, and cinematography by Sher Bahadur Tamang, has Sunita Sapkota and Ramnarayan Upadhyaya as producers. Pradip Kumar Sapkota, Yam Prasad Oli, and Sudip Kunwar are the co-producers, while Uday Vikram Rana, Ritu Malla Thakuri, and Kapil Acharya are the executive producers.

The film stars Narayan Tripathi, Suraksha Panta, Mukun Bhusal, Wilson Bikram Rai, Rabindra Jha, Prem Dev Giri, Ramnarayan Upadhyaya, Ganesh Gautam, Anshu Maharjan, Babin Rai, Khadga Bahadur Pun, Umesh Rai, Rajani Gurung, Sunita Sapkota, Mina RL Shahi, Ritu Malla Thakuri, among others, and will be distributed by RR Films.
