Election Fever Rises in Kathmandu Constituency 3 as Candidates Campaign Vigorously

As the date for the upcoming House of Representatives election draws nearer, the electoral fervor in Kathmandu Constituency No. 3 is intensifying.

Candidates are out on door-to-door campaigns with their party manifestos. Public rallies and promotional activities have commenced. Bhim Bhakta Tamang, a local from Gokarneshwor Municipality-4, stated his decision to vote for the candidate who creates employment opportunities within the country. The 65-year-old shared the plight of having to send his children abroad for employment due to a lack of jobs at home. He said, "At this age, I am forced to be separated from my children. Who would want to go abroad if employment was available at home?"

A total of 22 candidates, including those from political parties and independents, are contesting in this House of Representatives election. In Kathmandu-3, Nepali Congress has nominated Ramesh Aryal, CPN-UML has nominated Rameshwar Phunyal, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has nominated Rajunath Pandey, CPN has nominated Niraj Lama, and Ujyalo Nepal Party has nominated its chairman, Kulman Ghising. Congress, UML, CPN, and RSP have fielded faces not seen in previous elections, while Ujyalo Nepal Party is participating in the election for the first time.

In the previous House of Representatives election, Santosh Chalise of the Nepali Congress was elected from this constituency. RSP candidate Rajunath Pandey is campaigning door-to-door with the slogan, 'You vote, we will change the country.' He stated his objective is to bring development through the activism of the youth in recent times. He said, "Once the leadership changes, the country will change its source."

Ujyalo Nepal Party candidate Ghising has also issued a manifesto and is campaigning door-to-door with the main slogan, 'Not talk, but work; not speeches, but results.' He stated that he and his party are dedicated to working to win the trust of the citizens.

Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Rameshwar Phunyal has been assuring the public that upon winning, he will fulfill the responsibility of enacting laws to implement the constitution, ensuring good governance, prosperity, providing employment to the youth within the country, and making the nation self-reliant.

Nepali Congress candidate Ramesh Aryal stated that he will continue the development and prosperity work done by previous representatives in Kathmandu Constituency-3 and prepare a development roadmap in line with the aspirations of the people.

This constituency comprises all 9 wards of Gokarneshwor Municipality, wards 1, 2, and 3 of Kageshwori Manohara Municipality, and Ward No. 6 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. The total number of voters is 64,479. Seventy-two polling stations have been designated in this area.
