Nepali Congress VP Sharma: The Question Now is Who Will Save the Nation, Not Who Forms the Government

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has stated that the current question is not about who forms the government, but who will save the nation.

Speaking at a pledge assembly organized by the Nepali Congress in Tirahutiya, Janakpur on Wednesday, Vice President Sharma, who is also the coordinator of the party's election mobilization committee, said that the fundamental question now is who will save the country and the system.

“The fundamental question is who can save the country. Anyone can form a government. Anyone can run it,” said Vice President Sharma. He added that the Congress is ready to hold a round table conference to forge a common resolution for establishing good governance. “Let's move forward with a common resolution to establish good governance; we are ready for a round table for that,” Sharma said, “We are ready for discussions to make our thinking and vision common.”

He mentioned that there are two types of ideologies currently in the country, and neither is appropriate. “Two kinds of narratives have emerged in the country. One says things were fine before Bhadra 23. The other says there was corruption and everything was ruined,” Sharma said, “But we hold a moderate view.”

Sharma stated that if the issues raised by Gen-Z are not addressed, a rebellion is happening under Gen-Z's leadership now, and a rebellion under Alpha's leadership will happen in ten years. He noted that the Congress changed its leadership through a special general convention, asserting that the country cannot be changed if one does not change oneself.

“If we cannot change ourselves, we cannot change the country by changing the government through elections. That is why we have come to Madhesh to pledge to change the country by changing ourselves,” Sharma said.
