Two Arrested in Dhankuta with Large Cache of Marijuana Seized from Forest Area

Dhankuta. Two individuals have been arrested along with a large quantity of the narcotic drug marijuana from a forest in Garguwa, Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-7, Dhankuta. A joint team deployed from the Provincial Investigation Group of the Koshi Province Police Office, Biratnagar, and the Mulghat Police Post took two local youths into custody along with 205 kg of marijuana.

Acting on a special tip-off, the police team reached the area on Falgun 5 and discovered the marijuana hidden in 10 white plastic sacks during a search. Those arrested are 33-year-old Prakash Rai and 34-year-old Ashok Rai, both residents of Sangurigadhi-7. Police apprehended them while the marijuana was being transported via a forest route.

Police stated that both arrested individuals are currently being held at the District Police Office, Dhankuta, for further investigation. Police are investigating where such a large quantity of marijuana was intended to be transported.
