Western Disturbance Affects Nepal, Forecast Predicts Fog and Possible Snowfall in High Mountains

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that a partial influence of the Western Disturbance is currently affecting Nepal. Due to this influence, a thin layer of fog has covered a few areas in the Terai region. Partial cloud cover is observed in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, while the weather remains mostly clear in the remaining areas.

This afternoon, haze and fog will persist in some parts of the Terai region. Generally cloudy conditions will prevail in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Partial cloud cover is expected in the Terai of Lumbini Province and Sudurpashchim Province, as well as in the remaining hilly and Himalayan areas.

There is a possibility of light rain accompanied by snowfall in one or two locations in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, fog will remain in a few places in the Terai region. Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces will generally be cloudy. Partial cloud cover will be present in the remaining high hilly and Himalayan regions.

The Department has indicated a possibility of light rain accompanied by snowfall in a few locations in the Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and light rain in one or two places in the hilly regions.
