Nepal Faces Scotland in Final T20 World Cup Group Stage Match in Mumbai

Mumbai. Nepal is set to face Scotland today in their final group stage match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. This match, taking place at the renowned Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, will mark the final journey of this edition for both teams.

Having lost all three previous matches and been eliminated from the Super 8 race, Nepal aims for a victorious and positive conclusion today.

This World Cup has been very challenging for Nepal. Although Nepal gave a tough fight to the strong team England until the final over in the first match, they were defeated by just 4 runs. 

However, an unexpected 10-wicket loss to Italy in the second match and the defeat against the West Indies in the third match ended Nepal's dream of advancing to the next stage. Instability in batting and failure to score expected runs in the powerplay have emerged as the team's main weaknesses.

Head Coach Stuart Law has instructed the players to take lessons from the recent defeats and enter the field with full commitment. There is pressure on Nepal to win today's match to please the thousands of Nepali supporters present in Mumbai.
