Nepal Life Insurance Launches 'Nari Suraksha Jeevan Bima Yojana' for Women's Financial Security

Kathmandu. Nepal Life Insurance Company has launched the 'Nari Suraksha Jeevan Bima Yojana' (Women's Security Life Insurance Plan) in the Nepali insurance market for the first time, coinciding with International Women's Day. Launched with the slogan 'One Plan, Multiple Benefits,' this plan is designed focusing on women's life, health, savings, and financial security.

The most distinctive feature of this plan is the inclusion of a supplementary contract facility for maternity care and pregnancy complications, included for the first time in the Nepali insurance sector. Under this insurance plan, the insured woman will receive a fixed cash benefit on every anniversary of the policy.

Furthermore, it includes a 'Progressive Death Benefit' arrangement, according to which the sum assured amount provided upon the death of the insured will increase by 25 percent every 5 years. This plan, open to women aged 18 to 65, aims to make women financially self-reliant and secure.

Specifically keeping maternity in mind, the company will provide a lump sum of 1 lakh rupees if any one of the 11 serious complications during pregnancy is confirmed. Similarly, under the maternity care facility, an additional 10 thousand rupees will be provided for health services upon certification of pregnancy.

Voluntary benefits such as accidental death benefit, total disability benefit, and premium waiver are also available in this plan, which can be started with a minimum sum assured of 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees.
