West Indies Dominates Nepal by 9 Wickets to Secure Spot in ICC T20 World Cup Super Eight Stage

Kathmandu. West Indies has advanced to the Super Eight stage of the ICC T20 World Cup Cricket after defeating Nepal. West Indies secured their place in the Super Eight by beating Nepal by 9 wickets in the match held on Sunday.

Chasing Nepal's target of 134 runs at the Wankhede Cricket Stadium, West Indies scored 134 runs in 15 overs and 2 balls, losing only one wicket.

Shai Hope played a half-century innings of 61 runs for West Indies. He faced 44 balls and hit 5 fours and 3 sixes. Similarly, Shimron Hetmyer scored 46 runs while Brandon King added 22 runs.

For Nepal, Nandan Yadav took one wicket, while the rest of the bowlers could not take any wickets. Earlier, after losing the toss and choosing to bat first, Nepal scored 133 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Dipendra Singh Airee played the highest half-century innings of 58 runs for Nepal. He faced 47 balls and hit 3 fours and 3 sixes. Sompal Kami contributed 26 runs for Nepal, while Lokesh Bam added 13 runs.

On the bowling side, Jason Holder took the maximum four wickets for West Indies. Additionally, Akeal Hosein, Matthew Forde, Samar Joseph, and Roston Chase took one wicket each. By winning today's match, West Indies has entered the Super Eight. West Indies, which is at the top of Group 'C', has 6 points from three matches.

Defeated Nepal has been eliminated from the group stage of the tournament after its third consecutive loss. Nepal will now play its final group stage match against Scotland.
