Chief Secretary Notes Neglect of Distribution Issues in Nepal's Economic Reforms

Kathmandu. Chief Secretary of the government, Suman Raj Aryal, stated that the issue of distribution and redistribution has been overshadowed in the first phase of the country's economic reforms. Speaking at an interaction program, he mentioned that although the 2080s are considered the initial phase of economic reform, policy debates have been limited only to economic growth.

He explained that due to production and economic growth being crucial issues in the immediate term, sufficient attention could not be paid to other important related matters. He argued that a clear stance on the issues of distribution and redistribution, alongside economic growth, has still not been established.

He also noted that the traditional approach concerning industrial transformation has been adopted almost like a policy mantra.
