Man Dies After Car Plunges into Fewa Lake in Pokhara

Pokhara. A young man has died after a car plunged into Fewa Lake in Pame, Pokhara Metropolitan City-6. The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Adit Gurung, originally from Phedikhola Rural Municipality-5, Syangja, and currently residing in Masbar, Pokhara-7.

According to the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 24 Battalion HQ Kalika, Kaski, the accident occurred near GaihrakoChautara in Pame at approximately 2:10 AM last night.

The car fell suddenly from the road into Fewa Lake after the driver lost control. Upon receiving news of the accident, a team of 21, including divers, led by Armed Police Superintendent Basanta Bahadur Singh from the Armed Police Force Kalika Battalion, reached the scene.

The Armed Police diving team pulled Gurung, who was unconscious, out of the lake and immediately sent him to Gandaki Medical College for further treatment. However, after being taken to the hospital, doctors declared him dead at 4:34 AM.

The wrecked car was pulled out of the lake with the help of a crane. Police stated that the vehicle has been taken to the Ward Police Office, Baidam, for further investigation into the incident.
