National Council Members Urge Government to Ensure Fair and Fearless By-elections

Kathmandu. National Council members today drew the government's attention to conduct the House of Representatives by-election scheduled for Falgun 21 in a fair and fear-free environment.

During the zero hour of today's session, Member Sharadadevi Bhatt mentioned that only 20 days remain for the election and stated that the election must be conducted calmly across the country without fear, terror, or rigging. She also drew the government's attention through the House to create an environment for this.

In today's meeting, Member Gangakumari Belbase expressed the view that petroleum discovered in the Dailekh district should be excavated and commercial production started to meet domestic needs.

Member Gopal Bhattarai raised the issue of the dismissal of some contract service employees of the Social Welfare Council in the House.

Member Sumitra Bisi stated that news of increasing murder and violence in various parts of the country is being reported, urging that those involved in such incidents should be arrested, action taken, and efforts made for justice for the victims.
