Progressive Democratic Party Issues Statement on People's War Day

Butwal. The Lumbini Province Committee of the Progressive Democratic Party (PrLoPa) has extended best wishes on the occasion of People's War Day through a press release.

The statement, jointly signed by the party's Lumbini Province In-charge Narayani Sharma and Chairman Yagya Prasad Pokharel, extended best wishes to all Nepalis residing in the country and abroad, and offered heartfelt tributes to the great martyrs of the People's War. High respect was also expressed to the disappeared fighters, the injured, and the families of the martyrs.

The statement noted that the contribution of the People's War is the highest among Nepal's democratic movements. "The People's War is the main basis for all political achievements and social consciousness today," the statement read, "We must embrace these political achievements, but the work of changing the condition of the Nepali people remains unfinished."

The party emphasized the necessity of building a strong alternative with a clear ideology through the broad unity of all progressive democratic forces from a new perspective. The party stressed the responsibility to fulfill the mandate of changing the people's condition through the strength of those united forces.

Referring to the context of the country heading towards elections, the statement also called upon everyone to take initiative to steer this election towards the path of achieving the remaining political rights of the People's War and changing the socio-economic conditions.
