Security Committee Intensifies Monitoring of Highly Sensitive Polling Stations Ahead of Elections in Jumla

Jumla. As the date for the House of Representatives election on Falgun 21 approaches, the District Security Committee has intensified its monitoring of highly sensitive polling stations and centers.

Dipendra Kandel, the Election Officer at the District Election Office, informed that the District Security Committee has so far monitored 42 highly sensitive polling centers among those established in the eight local levels of the district.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabinbabu Regmi of the District Police Office, 25 polling centers have been designated as sensitive polling centers out of 110 polling centers. 64 polling centers have been classified as highly sensitive. 21 polling centers have been categorized as normal.

The Chief District Officer, Deepak Poudel, stated that there is a plan to inspect all polling stations listed as highly sensitive in the district. The monitoring included the condition of the polling stations, security arrangements, and the state of physical infrastructure. 

The District Security Committee has announced that polling stations have been classified into three tiers by the security agencies to ensure a peaceful and fear-free voting environment. The total number of voters in the district for the election is 71,739. The Election Office stated that out of the total voters, there are 34,280 female voters and 37,459 male voters.

The District Police Office has announced that Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepali Army, and Election Police will be mobilized to conduct the election in a fear-free environment.
