Kathmandu Ranks Fourth Globally for Worst Air Quality

Kathmandu. The air quality in the capital city, Kathmandu, is in a severely poor state. Kathmandu ranked fourth on the list of the world's most polluted cities on Thursday morning.

According to IQAir data, the air quality in Kathmandu was unhealthy as of 10 AM. The current Air Quality Index (AQI) in the city stands at 188. The level of PM 2.5 in the air here is 21.7 times higher than the standard set by the World Health Organization.

Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, holds the top spot on the list of the world's most polluted cities. Lahore, Pakistan, is in second place, and Kabul, Afghanistan, is in third. New Delhi, the capital of India, is in fifth place, immediately following Kathmandu.
