Major Orthopedic Conference 'Orthocon-2026' to be Held in Jhapa

Jhapa. A grand conference of orthopedic surgeons, 'Orthocon-2026', is set to take place in Jhapa. The major conference will bring together over 500 orthopedic surgeons from countries including Nepal, India, Bhutan, and Bangladesh, coinciding with the 31st annual conference of the Nepal Orthopaedic Association.

At a press conference held here on Wednesday, Dr. Laxmi Mainali, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, stated that the conference, running from today until Falgun 4, will see the significant participation of over 100 international orthopedic surgeons and more than 400 orthopedic surgeons from Nepal. He mentioned that the conference, held under the main theme of 'Education, Innovation, and Collaboration', is expected to promote health tourism in the region and vitalize the economy.

Dr. Prem Bahadur Shahi stated that new and experienced physicians will engage in serious discussions to provide extensive information on new experiments and successes in the field of orthopedics during the conference. He informed that work done by Nepali physicians and scientists in the field of innovation and the exhibition of three technologies/devices will be presented.

At the press conference, Dr. Nirajan Parajuli stated that the program will be useful for students and new physicians as internationally renowned doctors will be attending. He informed that a 'Scientific Course' and discussions on the working papers of various physicians will take place at the conference.

Dr. Nagamani Singh commented that Nepali doctors are now capable of developing new technologies and innovations in the medical field, and the conference will contribute to publicizing these achievements.
