Nepali Congress President Thapa Stresses Collective Effort to Build the Nation

Sarlahi. Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has stated that building the nation is not possible by one person alone and that he will work by uniting everyone.

Addressing a meeting with voters in Dhankol of the district on Wednesday evening, under Sarlahi Constituency No. 4, he mentioned that he came here with the objective of sending a message connecting the Madhes region to the country, and assured that he would work by winning the trust of the voters.

President Thapa said, "The nation is not built by one person alone. This is only possible through collective effort and resolve. If one person could build the nation, the kings and emperors would have done it long ago. Therefore, I will join hands with all parties in the country for change. My party and I will fulfill that role."

He clarified that he did not come to Sarlahi because he failed to secure a constituency, stating that he left the easy constituency of Kathmandu Constituency No. 4, where he has a strong base. "I want to understand Madhes more deeply. I want to understand the suffering here. Many issues regarding the problems here have been raised, and I have come here saying I will solve them," said President Thapa.

He mentioned that his party nominated him for the post of Prime Minister and expressed confidence that he would receive support from across the country for the party. Even if he does not get the responsibility of Prime Minister, he stated his commitment to working for the development of Sarlahi Constituency No. 4.

"You do not need to see me as a leader or a Member of Parliament. You should understand me as your own elder brother, younger brother, or friend. I have come here to be a member of your family for five years," said President Thapa. "To solve problems, I will operate offices in both Sarlahi-4 and Kathmandu. Just as I ask for votes now, later the citizens here will demand their rights from me."
