Nepal Police Chief Directs Subordinates Towards Integrity and Diligence Amidst Anti-Corruption Efforts

Kathmandu. Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Nepal Police, Dan Bahadur Karki, has directed subordinate police personnel to perform their duties with honesty, transparency, and high professional dedication.

During a program held at the Police Headquarters, Naxal, on Wednesday, he instructed the police personnel, who were awarded for outstanding performance while serving at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Tangal, to work with greater responsibility towards the nation and the organization.

IGP Karki mentioned that the role of the CIAA in promoting good governance and controlling corruption is significant, stating that the responsibility discharged by the police personnel deployed at the commission was commendable.

He noted that professional competence, dedication, and integrity in investigation have further elevated the prestige of the Nepal Police organization. He stated, "I extend heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the Nepal Police organization to all the police personnel who have succeeded in achieving excellent performance in the field of investigation by making the highest use of their professional knowledge, skills, and experience. I have faith that in the coming days, you will remain dedicated to the service of the nation and the people with even greater responsibility, honesty, and diligence."

Inspector General Karki emphasized the need to make investigative work evidence-based, factual, and impartial to make the campaign against corruption effective. He stressed that personnel involved in investigations must pay special attention to legal procedures, respect for human rights, and professional code of conduct.

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the CIAA, 35 police personnel working at the commission were honored and awarded based on their outstanding performance. It was reported that the awarded personnel made significant contributions to controlling corruption and promoting good governance by successfully completing the investigation of various complex and sensitive cases.

Additional Inspectors General of Police, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, senior police officers, and other police personnel were present on the occasion. Nepal Police has recently intensified its campaign to make the organization more effective through strengthening investigation capacity, training, and resource management.
