Rastriya Swatantra Party District Chief Arrested in Kapilvastu for Leaking Police Investigation Documents

Butwal. The District Organization Chief of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Kapilvastu, Rikhi Ram Bhattarai, has been arrested by the police.

Bhattarai, a resident of Banganga Municipality-8 in the district, was arrested by the police on Wednesday after he publicly shared documents related to a police investigation on Facebook.

Police Deputy Superintendent Ripeendra Kumar Singh informed that Bhattarai was arrested after he made those documents public via his Facebook account on the past Magh 26.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Singh stated that he was taken into custody following a complaint regarding spreading hate and malice and violating privacy by posting various materials on the social media platform Facebook.

He added that legal proceedings against him would be initiated under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063.

Police stated that Bhattarai has previously engaged in character assassination of individuals multiple times through Facebook.
